"The demo starts at 3:25.

In my repair and cleaning series about the pile of musical items I bought at a second hand shop I have now come to the drum machine: The BOSS DR-660. There wasn't any serious problems to take care off. Just a dead RAM battery and the unit was even so informative that it automatically told me that this was the problem.

ELKA X30 Organ VS. EFFEXX Multi FX Module

Published on Apr 22, 2018 Jörg Schaaf

"Last night I brought the ELKA X30 together with our RT-1701 Multi EFFEXX module and checked the string ensemble in combination with the tape delay, reverb and the stereo phaser of our module. At the end I added a bass sound from my favorite polyphonic synth - the Accelerator. Oddly enough I started to play typical Jean-Michel Jarre chord progressions. So I

"Spotted at the General Music booth in the ominously quiet hall 11.1, was a virtual Organ instrument based on the little known Italian Elka Panther - an organ made in the 1960s to sound like the classic Vox Continental and Farfisas of the time.

The Panther was modeled after they found a pristine Panther original in the estate of an ex Elka employee.

As I gladly accept these kinds of challenges, I've cooked up a track I think he'll enjoy recreating.

GeneralMusic GEM S2R Turbo Rackmount Synthesizer SN 225M93011

"If you don't know much about this synth, it was made by the Italian company General Music which was also affiliated with Elka that made the Synthex. This GEM S2R even has a Synthex patch (see pictures). This rackmount synth does not have rack ears. When I purchased the synth, it did not come with rack ears. The internal battery has recently been replaced. It includes a US

"The Soloist 505 is a very simple monophonic synth. Its look reminds one of a Roland SH-1000, but with its controls on the front. The sound is very clear and clean like many Italian cousins (Siel). There is a preset section but the waveforms can also be modified in 'free' mode. Funny sounds, lysergic and ancestral. But the
