Great Theremin Out Reach! Get 'em young, and get 'em a theremin!
They are home to an RCA Theremin Model AR 1264, you can arrange to visit and actually play it.The event was featured in the Bellingham Herald.

I promise, I had nothing to do with this! Democraticstuff.com is offering a "Thereminists for Obama" button for a mere $1. Sure, Bill Clinton could play the saxophone, but that's nothing compared to a theremin-playing President!
If you think Barack Obama's theremin persona works, check out his Rick Astley cover.

A long time ago, I got an e-mail from the Jeopardy research department asking for some information about a favorite instrument of ours. I just got a tip that the clue will air on Sept 16th, 2008! Honestly, it's been so long that I can't remember whether I gave a question or answer and what it could have possibly been, so I'll be tuning in to find out! Chalk up another win for World Thereminization!

Randy George (a.k.a. 0006) has done it again! Just 2 days ago, he posted a video of himself playing Super Mario Bros. on his Etherwave Pro theremin. The blog-o-sphere is already abuzz with chatter about his latest video which is doing wonders for World Thereminization.
You might remember Randy from his previous high-profile videos (Don't Worry, Be Happy, Legend of Zelda, Crazy). Maybe you were lucky enough to catch him at Ethermusic 2008. Either way, he's doing a great job of tapping into pop culture in a way that gets the theremin in front of countless new potential devotees!

Well maybe not exactly a steam theremin (at least not yet) but performance artist, and Art Institute of California faculty member, Lorin Edwin Parker did build a steam powered synthesizer, The Parker Steam Synthesizer.
As part of his UFO installation with artist Jay Stuckey, he built ten different custom theremins.
And for his latest Electric Western project, he built an all retro-tech tube theremin recreating as closely as possible Lev Termen's 1919 original.
Keeping a Do-It-Yourself approach to all his work, his projects have included a wide variety of unique apparatuses.
