We got our 2000th active user today!
Thanks to all our members new and old for keeping TW interesting, helpful, and supportive for all the Theremin players, builders, and theorists around the globe.

RCA Theremin Photo: American Museum Of Radio and Electricity
We got an update for our RCA registry page.
It was a perfectly timed reminder of a truly rare and valuable theremin that sold at auction several years ago. You can even make arrangements and play this RCA at the The American Museum Of Radio and Electricity in Bellingham WA.
This RCA Theremin Model AR 1264, No.

Perhaps May should be declared ThereminWorld Month.
The Theremin World Forums will be five years old on May 16th.
The site started out as Theremin Home Page in 1995, and was later redesigned and re-launched with its present design in 2000. Site Owner Jason Barile added new code and technology enhancements throughout 2000 to 2003 when forum discussions were finally added. The site has continued to run on the 2003 code base to this day.
The first forum post was by Jason at 12:11 AM 5/16/2003, and revealed his long tradition of late night TW work.

Many of the news stories I publish on this blog are submitted by Theremin World members. To help make it even easier for you to help me find pertinent content, I've joined StumbleUpon. You can use the button below to find my Stumble profile to see what sites I've tagged as interesting. Also, please feel free to join my Stumble friends list so I can discover some of the other cool sites you hang out on.
I'm also looking into adding "Stumble This" links to our news posts here so you can help other people discover our stories. Do you think this would be distracting? Willing to try it for a while and see how it goes? Think World Thereminization, folks :)

2007 was quite a year for the Theremin!
Just as the year turned we listened to previously unheard recordings by Clara Rockmore in her Lost Album and later in the year, to lighten our bleak midwinter, we heard long lost strains fromLucie Bigelow Rosen. 2007 had a great kick-off with Project: Pimento's new album debut onSpellbound.

ThereminWorld is happy to announce a special holiday gift from Kip Rosser: a copy of what may be the only known commercial recording of Lucie Bigelow Rosen still in existence.
Soon after Lucie Bigelow Rosen became a student of Leon Theremin in 1930, she and her husband enabled his continued work by providing housing and laboratory space as well as financial backing.
Lucie Rosen became a very active concert performer on the theremin and worked closely with Leon Theremin on customizations to the instruments he built for her.
